Screens
Two screens
For two-screen handhelds. Where you browse, where games open, and what the other screen shows.
This page is for handhelds with two screens, like the Retroid Pocket Duo Lite. Settings › Screens only appears on devices with two screens. With one screen, you can skip this page.
Turn it on
Open Settings › Screens › Use second screen. You browse on one screen while the other shows the selected game.
Choose the screen you browse on
Settings › Screens › Browse on:
- By layout: each Home layout uses its own choice, under Settings › Home › Browse on.
- Always top or Always bottom: every layout uses that screen.
Settings › Screens › Swap screens swaps what each screen shows.
Choose where games open
Settings › Screens › Launch games on:
- Smart: two-screen and widescreen games open on top. Other games open on the screen that fits
their shape.
- Top screen or Bottom screen: every game opens there.
Shortcuts on Home:
- Press the left stick to switch between Smart, Top and Bottom.
- Press the right stick to open the selected game on the other screen.
To send one system to a set screen, open Settings › Systems › (the system) › Launch on. This is used when Launch games on is set to Smart. For one game, press X and choose Launch on….
Warn before wide games go to the bottom asks first before a widescreen or two-screen game opens on the bottom screen.
While you play
The other screen shows Now Playing. Choose what it shows in Settings › Screens › Now Playing shows:
- Game art: the game's art behind its logo, with play stats.
- Card: cover, title and play stats.
- Clock: a large clock and battery level, kept dark.
To save battery, set Settings › Screens › While playing to Dim after 30 seconds or Turn off after 30 seconds.
Moving a game to the other screen
Android can't run one emulator on both screens at once. If an emulator is already running on one screen and you start a game with it on the other, Clamshell closes the first one. Save in your game before you move it across.
